The Home Buying Process

The typical real estate transaction involves many individuals & moving parts to successfully come to fruition.   It is my responsibility to expertly coordinate all the professionals involved in your home purchase and to act as the advocate for you and your interests throughout.

01 / Get Pre-Approved

Meet with a mortgage loan office to discuss your options & get pre-approved for a loan. If you don’t have a lender in mind, I’m happy to recommend to you lenders that may be a good fit.

02 / Get Clear on What You Want and Need

I’ll guide you through exercises to get clear on what you want and need in a new home. Identifying the fine details of what you’re looking for will make finding your new home a lot easier.

03 / Tour Properties

We’ll tour your favorite properties and keep a rolling top three so that you aren’t juggling too many options in your mind. The approach is to create clarity and make sure you don’t miss out on anything at the same time.

04 / Offer on a Home

Once you’ve found the right home for you we will prepare an offer with terms that you’re comfortable with. I will present that offer in the best possible light and negotiate on your behalf.

05 / Inspection Period

Once your offer is accepted and if you’ve asked for an inspection in your offer the due diligence period will begin. This is a period of 3-7 days in which all inspections will occur and it’s your chance to be sure the home is in good condition. If you need a recommendation I can provide many trusted vendors.

06 / Final Walk Through & Closing

One day prior to closing we will go back to the home to be sure it’s in the condition it was when your offer was accepted. You’ll bring your I.D. and cashiers check (or wiring instructions) to your closing on closing day!
